While working at the Gates Foundation, Alexa Bednarz (Founder) saw a need and opportunity – roofing.

Existing materials, particularly in India among low-income households were toxic, poor quality, high-carbon and deadly in extreme heat.

Ocean began out of curiosity and connection. “What kind of product could improve the lives of 1.6 Billion people and restore the health of our planet?”
